esident of Japanese telecom giant SoftBank, a big investor in Indian startups, has said his long term inspiration is to be able to change the education system in India. "Hopefully, I would be able to do it without running into too much bureaucracy or friction," he told Bloomberg in an interview last week. He also indicated he would give a substantial amount of money to charity if he succeeded in his plan to double or triple the value of SoftBank. SoftBank has been bruised in recent times with the losses at the US telecom firm Sprint, majority-owned by Softbank, and the precipitous drop in market capitalization of Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba, where Softbank is the largest shareholder.
